James W. Pennebaker is Professor and Chair in the Psychology Department at the University of Texas at Austin. Relying on computerized text analysis methods, his research examines how the words people use can reflect their emotions, goals, personality, social, and biological processes. He has published several books and over 200 articles and has received numerous research and teaching awards.
