Given the current economic climate’s effect on many of our colleagues’ ability to travel, CASL has been forced to take the step of cancelling its component of the National Conference on the Neural and Physiological Effects of Stress on Performance, “Stress and Language Use,” February 27-28. If you have already registered for this event, your conference registration fee will be refunded immediately.
Canceling this conference was a very difficult decision given the caliber of submissions, accepted papers, and keynotes. Unfortunately, the current situation makes it unquestionably necessary. We thank all of our presenters for their generous understanding and flexibility.
We especially thank Dr. James Pennebaker who has agreed to give his talk as a public event on the morning of Friday, February 27. If you are in the area, we hope that you’ll attend this free of charge event and enjoy refreshments compliments of CASL. More details with the exact time and location will be posted shortly.
James W. Pennebaker, PhD is an expert in exploring the links between traumatic experiences, expressive writing, natural language use, and physical and mental health. He is a Bush Professor of Liberal Arts and the Departmental Chair in the Psychology Department at the University of Texas at Austin.
